It forwards this data to the in-house IT, such as the ERP level, or to a cloud system, where it is analyzed by an analysis tool and fed back to maintenance systems, for example. This is ideal for detecting possible signs of wear at an early stage based on corresponding indicators, optimally planning and carrying out preventive maintenance, and thus minimizing cost-intensive downtimes. Furthermore, the Linux/Debian-based SIMATIC Industrial OS is already pre-installed as the operating system on the SIMATIC IOT2050 advanced to save time during commissioning.
